THIS WEEK: It's the Little things

Today I have a four month old. It’s weird. On one hand I cannot really remember life without Camryn, but at the same time four months sounds so old! She is already showing me what people say when they talk about children growing before their eyes. In just four months she has gone from a six and a half pound infant who couldn’t even hold her head up to a little girl who smiles and laughs and holds onto you when you rock her. It is unbelievable. I have always been a confident person. This has allowed me to take...

Sunday Afternoon: Meeting Lynne

Sunday Afternoon: Meeting Lynne

Earlier today we got to meet Lynne. She had sent us a message on Facebook letting us know she would be in the area and so she would like to pick up a sign rather than having it mailed. Of course we welcomed the idea since we rarely get to meet anyone in person, but we had no idea how special it would be! Lynne is from Oregon! Can you believe that? We are in a little town in North Carolina that we hadn’t even heard of prior to moving here, and it just so happened she and her husband...

THISWEEK: Spring signs are here!

I am two weeks late, but the spring signs are finally here! We weren’t able to get all the signs out that we were hoping for, but considering the circumstances I guess it’s alright :) “Basil”, “Thyme”, “Sage” herb signs These are my favorite signs of the season! THISWEEK: Motivation in Unexpected Places

When we were first starting our business, every month was scary. We had no idea if anyone would like our product and the idea of getting regular sales seemed foreign. I remember looking at posts from other shops in Facebook groups talking about sales, wondering if we would ever be lucky enough to have a sale every day. During that time it was all about doing ANYTHING that could help our business grow. One of our attempts at publicity resulted in an article titled “Selling on Etsy: What’s the worst that could happen? The Simply Pallets story”. It talked about...

ThisWeek: Looking Forward

15 days ago our daughter was born, and mentally I am still in disbelief. You would think being pregnant for nine months and going through 27 hours of un-medicated labor would be a hint that this is all real, but it honestly seems like someone dropped this beautiful girl into my life out of nowhere and gave me the honor of being her mom. I am not going to get into all of the details, but the labor was insane. It was pretty textbook for a first time mom in the sense of the pain and how long it lasted, but...
